Pop-Up Cards ANIMALS

Monster CARDS

This is an easy form of collage. Prepare the face and the open mouth and let the child decorate the monster. Here’s how:

After you cut out and fold the monster, crease the folds in every direction. Glue to another sheet of paper, but avoid putting any glue on the mouth or it won’t open.

Now it’s up to the child to decorate the card. You may want to add some legs to make the card stand upright.

HANDPRINT Card

This little handprint card would warm any mother’s heart. Cut out a few flowers, a rectangle and a trapeze to make the flowerpot. Glue everything on a white sheet of paper.

Cut along the edge, leaving a thin white strip. Fold a colored sheet of paper and glue your flowerpot at the front. Cut out along the outer outline only.

CARDS and figures from corrugated cardboard

A snowman and a Christmas tree

made of pre-cut strips of corrugated cardboard, rolled into a cylinder and glued with PVA glue.

We had great fun trying out the corrugated cardboard sheets  easy to cut, holding its shape, thick and suitable for all kinds of projects.

Collages made from simple geometric shapes – a square, a rectangle and a circle.

‘I LOVE YOU’ Card

Paper collages are lots of fun to make. Take a couple of old children’s magazines (we use the old issues of National Geographic Kids), a pair of scissors and some glue, and you can make all sorts of interesting stuff. Like these ‘anonymous love letters’, for example. Рrint out the fold-out heart template from HERE. You can use the letters from the old magazines or cut out cute pictures from paper napkins and glue them on.

FATHER'S DAY CARD

While we were preparing for our Dad’s birthday, yesterday we made a ‘man’s’ card with a little cake made from  folded color strips.

You can print out the postcard template from HERE. It’s nice when you use colored printer sheets, too. After you cut out and fold the card, decorate with a bowtie or a necktie.

We used a white wax crayon and felt-tip pens to decorate the fabric of the  ‘shirt cards’.
